Join All the Genders Photo Project and Share Your Story
All the Genders Photo Project is an ongoing effort to document gender-diverse experiences through photography and storytelling.
Right now, the project is in a new phase.
Photo sessions are temporarily on pause while I focus on bringing these stories into book form.
Northern Lights, Northern Lives is an upcoming narrative photo book featuring gender-diverse stories from Alaska and the Yukon.

If you’re interested in participating in a future photo session, you’re still welcome to read below about what gender affirming photo sessions look like with me, and submit an interest form. I’ll be in touch when sessions resume if I visit your area!
Location of Your Photo Session
The photo session takes place in a location of your choice – anywhere you feel in your element. I’m open to a variety of ideas, from your home, to a favorite scenic spot, engaging in hobbies, or at a favorite business (with a property release). Your creativity is encouraged! I’ll let you know if a location is outside my travel capabilities.
Each photo session typically lasts 1-2 hours. Sessions can be as short as 30 minutes or a few hours depending on what we do for a shoot. We can potentially meet for coffee to ensure you’re at ease before the shoot, then move to a location of your choice.
Photo Shoot Vibe
If you’re a bit camera shy, don’t worry! Photo sessions are relaxed and laid back. Consider it a creative collaboration, where we chat about life, gender, and whatever comes to mind while I capture the essence of who you are. The vibe is informal, and my goal is to make you feel comfortable and have fun.
Writing and Sharing Your Story
Once we’ve scheduled your session, I’ll send you a simple form to guide your storytelling. You’re free to share only what feels right for you, with no pressure to disclose anything personal that may compromise your privacy. If you’re not sure where to start with writing, we can talk about other ways to capture your story.
Visibility and Social Media
As part of this project, your story will be shared on social media platforms, and may appear in a future book. This helps share your story and helps others understand diverse experiences of gender. While I often tag your social media profiles when sharing stories, you can choose not to have your profiles linked if you prefer more privacy.
Considerations for Online Safety
When deciding to share your story in this project, it’s important to feel safe and comfortable. Consider and weigh any risks in your personal life with publicly sharing information about yourself. If you have privacy concerns, we can photograph you in ways that obscure your identity, and your name will not be shared if you prefer anonymity.
Suggested Donation for Photo Session
There is a suggested donation of $50–75 per person for each photo session, which helps offset the costs of travel, photography, and professional editing. This donation includes 5-7 edited photos and 3 high-resolution downloads. While the donation helps sustain the project, it is not required for participation if this is a financial hardship. You may also choose to make a donation later if you’re able.
Your Participation Matters
This project is about visibility, inclusivity, celebrating diverse gender experiences, and breaking stereotypes associated with different genders.
Feel free to fill out the form below if you’re interested in being part of the All the Genders Photo Project and sharing your unique perspective!
