About Me – LGBTQ+ & Transgender Photographer Behind All the Genders Photo Project

Jayme Drew, portrait, person with glasses in green grass

I’m a gender fluid and transgender photographer dedicated to capturing LGBTQ+ stories through portrait photography. My passion for visibility, representation, and storytelling drives every aspect of All the Genders Photo Project, ensuring that diverse gender experiences are seen, heard, and celebrated.

Navigating life as a queer, neurodivergent person and Survivor with PTSD has deepened my understanding of the importance of amplifying underrepresented voices. I’ve had opportunities to experience the richness of so many diverse communities, growing up in the NorthEast U.S., then living and traveling all over the country and the world since then. My career path started in healthcare for 13 years, then pivoted to work a park ranger season in Alaska, which ultimately led me to photography and advocacy.

I specialize in LGBTQ+ portrait photography, using images to tell powerful, authentic stories. Beyond All the Genders, I also enjoy wildlife and nature photography, finding inspiration in the landscapes I explore. When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me immersed in exploring the natural world or nestling into my cozy apartment with some indoor plant parenting. Every time I leave home base, my partner does his best to minimize the casualties in our plant family at home 😉

My home base is in Southeast Virginia, where I live with my amazing partner of 18 years. We recently said goodbye to our furry family member and most loyal ally Barry White, a Jindo mix who loved to sing and indiscriminately flirt with human femmes. After every QueerVenture, I’m always excited to return to this beautiful region to recharge and reconnect.
